Benny Nguyen’s passion for cars was cultivated as a child by his father. When asked why he chose the 2007 E90 specifically he said people always told him he couldn’t build a sedan as nice as a coupe; or this and that stance is stupid. So he picked out the sedan that caught his eye, built with stance and power yet suitable to still carry groceries. “I love the body lines of the E90. They just flow so smoothly!” To top it off he is the only BMW owner and driver, in the world, to have his car painted in the Lexus LFA Pearl Red.
BMW launched the fifth-generation 3-series in January 2005. Nicknamed the E90, originally coming in saloon form only but by September there was a Touring (estate) model, too. It was available with four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines.
Moving from Charleston to Charlotte is a huge change for Nguyen. “The car scene is completely different but I’m still the main one building a BMW. The only stock piece on the E90 is the VIN.”
“Building a car for speed and show is my passion. It’s my drug.”
